Over the last several months, Marketing and Communications has been working to mainstream Northland’s new brand and we are happy to roll out a number of new tools and resources to help you integrate the new brand into everyday application.
The Department of Marketing and Communications website is your go-to source to find design templates, guidelines, and tools to help you effectively put Northland’s new visual identity into practice for your communication, event, and presentation needs. Built to help any Northland department, office, or program save time and stay on brand, this suite of templates is just the beginning. As the brand continues to roll out, we will generate more tools. Project Request System
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new project request system. To request a project, fill out the online intake form and choose your request type. We offer a few different project request type options to make it easier for you including, but not limited to, advertising, brand/marketing consultation, content development, media relations, feature story recommendation, photography, print/creative design, social media, and digital/web production. Our request system is not a replacement for face-to-face conversations about how to meet your communication and marketing goals. Instead, it is a starting point for helping us to better understand your needs.
Trademarks/Licensing & Purchasing Process
Because all Northland trademarks are protected by federal and state law either by federal/state trademark registrations or through common law use and Minnesota State board policy, brand standards and purchasing processes have been adopted and approved by Northland administration to ensure the integrity of the new brand is preserved and presented in a consistent manner. A streamlined purchasing process is now in place for all employees to purchase promotional items, products, or merchandise featuring any Northland trademark. Our comprehensive set of brand standards manuals will help you and our licensed vendors successfully put the new Northland brand into practice. As ever-evolving documents, our brand standards manuals are reference guides for all aspects of the Northland brand. The most up-to-date versions of the brand standard manuals are available online. In addition, a product design guide is available to help inspire successful usage of the Northland and Pioneers athletics brands.
Through a reliable brand identity program, Northland can project a strong, unified and professional image to all audiences even though communications are coming from many separate units across our campuses. Following these brand standards officially identifies your department/program as part of Northland, increasing brand recognition with your audience and making it more likely your message will be received and remembered.
