The Financial Aid and Veterans Services offices have had a busy summer and start to the fall term. Over the past year, our financial aid offices have received over 2,700 federal financial aid applications. Over 1,850 of those were fully processed and we continue to receive and work on applications on a daily basis. In addition, our School Certifying Officials have certified enrollments for approximately 70 veterans this fall.
Last spring, our offices completed the Department of Defense Voluntary Education Institutional Compliance Program Review. We received our results early this fall and were very pleased with them. We have a couple of very minor web updates to make, but the review showed no significant issues which attest to the fact that Northland has strong policy and procedure in place and is transparent in the information provided to the public.
The fall disbursement of financial aid funds went well. As a reminder, there are work-study funds available on both campuses. If you have questions on work-study or are in need of one in your department or area, please contact:

Now that the fall is in full swing and high schools are back in session, our department has been invited to present financial aid information sessions and to assist with FAFSA completion events at various local high schools. We have either presented or will present at the following schools:
Financial Aid Presentations: Kittson Central High School (Hallock, MN), Greenbush-Middle River High School (Greenbush, MN), Badger High School (Badger, MN), Lincoln High School (Thief River Falls, MN), Marshall County Central High School (Newfolden, MN), Warroad High School (Warroad, MN) and Lancaster High School (Lancaster, MN)
FAFSA Completion Events: Lincoln High School (Thief River Falls, MN), Red River High School (Grand Forks, ND), and Warroad High School (Warroad, MN).
Hope everyone has a wonderful fall term!
Director of Financial Aid
