The enrollment department has been on the road across MN and ND for fall recruitment. There are still several upcoming events that the enrollment department will be participating in for recruitment purposes.
All MN and ND College Fairs have wrapped up for the fall semester. High school visits in Northwest MN and Northeast ND are in-progress. The Northern Valley Career Expo was October 30 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. Northland had 21 programs participate in this event. Also, coming up on December 5 is the Health, Technology, and Trades Career Expo at the Fargodome. Northland has 10 programs participating in this event. Other events that were on the calendar for recruitment were the Detroit Lakes Career Expo September 19 (7 programs participated), Resource for Re-integration Fair at Tri-County Corrections, Roseau HS Plan your Future on October 15, and Lincoln HS application completion on October 31.
Northland was represented at the MN National College Fair where over 25,000 high school students from MN, SD, IA, and WI, had the opportunity to visit with college representatives throughout the United States. We proudly displayed the new college brand with a new Northland backdrop, new table cloth, new viewbooks, new swag, and new tabletop banner displays. The feedback and comments heard at the MN National College Fair regarding our new brand were too many to count and overwhelmingly positive. A comment shared over and over was that the “new look” was sharp and clean, very professional and bold. There were a number of representatives that took a picture of the whole set-up of Northland’s booth and said, “don’t be surprised if we have a similar look next year!”
Student Orientation, Assessment, & Registration days (SOAR Days) are scheduled weekly from now until the start of the spring semester. Applicants that have all required admissions documents are encouraged to sign up online for a scheduled SOAR day.
