Where has the semester gone? The end is in sight. Here are a few reminders and well wishes from Student Affairs before year end.
First, I would like to ask those who may be able to influence students who have not registered yet for spring semester to encourage and remind them to do so before they leave for break. Students need to make an appointment with their assigned advisor to get an access code for registration each term. We have employed that process so we may ensure students are on track for graduation and to get ahead of any major problems with their enrollment. Advisors and the registrar’s office have been communicating with students regarding registration for spring, but we are concerned some students are waiting to register. Academic administration will be checking the enrollment in course sections soon and will be cutting low enrolled courses from the schedule. We want students to have access to the best selection of courses and if they don’t register soon, options may be limited. Thank you ahead of time for helping us get students registered.
Second, I would like to mention that we are in the process of hiring a College Registrar and Director of Advising due to Lisa Bottem’s acceptance of the Director of Financial Aid position. We also are in the process of hiring a vacant advisor position in East Grand Forks. We will hear within the next few weeks the outcome of both searches. Stay tuned for more information.
Finally, I would like to extend warm seasonal greetings to all employees. Enjoy the time you have with family and friends and come back rejuvenated and refreshed to start spring semester.
